There is only one supplier for winter tyres at the moment, without spikes. Normally i3 with narrow tyres should be better than other cars in snow.

Winter tyres have a higher silicone content compared to summer tyres so take the BMW excuse with pinch of salt. Consider a test drive in the snow if you are in a country where you will need to use it in snow?
