It will be cheaper than you think. All of the expense is in engineering. Sure the raw material is a little more expensive but the manufacturing line is actually significantly less capital intensive than for a steel or aluminum body. Again, most of the expense comes up front in the engineering/design. The MegaCity will actually be dirt simple to assemble if you think about it.

Insuring a car like this will be expensive, however. Any sort of significant impact will total the car. CF cannot be (reasonably) repaired.

Frankly I'm stoked. I'd imagine that M variants will get a whole lot of light-weighting in the near future.
