It will eventually happen just like the phone charging. It's just a matter if time they realize it and make it happen sooner than later.

Many of the electric vehicles use the same plug with, I think, Nissan and Tesla maybe being the exceptions. Even then, some units have hiccups detecting the vehicle, but other similar units do not.
I agree, it will be good when all manufacturers get on board the same implementation.
