there's no sense in comparing the i8 to Tesla S as cars because they are two very different products. Anyway they can be compared as engineering achievements. In this respect I think the i8 is well ahead, taken as a whole of course and not just in what the power train can (can't) do or what are range or handling like. You need to take into account all the aero and carbon stuff as well. And there's laser lights too, the next step from the LEDs!
