I'm not on the same page here. I find the cars to be quite comparable in their category. Both "sports cars", 2-seaters, similar horsepower, similar features and amenities. The 996 is certainly not a detuned racing car; like all modern Porsches it is a road car first and foremost.
If you've owned or driven both I'd love to hear your thoughts on how they compare.
