There are several carbon tub cars out there, what they do is use the tub for integrity and then there are aluminum components that attach to the tub where the power train and suspension are mounted. Those components are made to crumple like in a regular car. No car has a design intended to have passenger space intrusion although under federal safety requirements some passenger space intrusion is acceptable. The idea is the crumpling takes place to absorb the energy as far away from the passengers as possible. Hope this helps
