History doesn't always provide a recipe for success in the future. BMW has and will continue to build cars that people want to drive - if they don't, they'll cease to exist.

As an enthusiast, you don't need to love this car...but you need to appreciate that this car and the BMWi sub-brand are creating scale for light-weight hybrid composites that will be leveraged by M and eventually, main-line BMWs.

To that end - this is a BMW. Forward thinking, demand satisfying and to a certain type of driver (hyper-miller, perhaps) fun to drive.

Bring on my CFRP-heavy M2.
