You can hook it up to more powerful outlets, but it won’t charge any faster than 2 hours. Seems like BMW gave it a rather mild charge controller to go with the small battery size.

Yep, I've got a fixed 30amp charger for my other EV, a fixed 16amp charger and a plugin 13amp charger - not a lot of difference between them (240v supply here). Fast charging doesn't do the battery any good anyway and such a small capacity means no point in a big charge capability.
I'm even tempted to set mine to the slowest charge in the menu for longevity...
