I doubt that cars would be put on the assembly line not knowing if all parts will become available; that would indeed be nuts. I think most likely scenario, cars already in production are going to make it. They should in fact know exactly how many Pure Impulse cars they can build before having to stop and/or take Tera/Giga orders instead.
The parts may not be in-house but I do believe that they would not start a particular car without 100% knowing all parts will be available for that car in the supply chain.
Unless someone screwed up really, really bad, the scenario you are describing should never happen.

Really though... Wow. Just wow. And, I still don't understand why only one world for all 2014 orders? Back in Russia, we didn't have choices, it was bread, or no bread... That's why we left!!!
