From what I've been able to gather, the plug appears to be 22M x 1.5. After giving the quick twist plug more thought, I don't think I want to lose the magnetic properties of the drain plug, since I've seen some photos with significant accumulation of metal particles on them.

Is the white fitting a swivel that you have on your hose?

Also, what fluid did you use? I have a extra bottle of Motul Gear 300 75W-90 and it seems to meet every spec of the BMW G1 fluid except its 90 instead of 85. Don't really think that should make much difference and I've seen that Liqui Moly recommends their 75W-90 for our transmissions.
