The ones that are not already spoken for look out, wait till you see the mark ups over MSRP on these bad boys
This is going to be one of the hottest and hardest cars to get IMO especially since dealers are only getting a very very small amount of allocations for these

But... I believe (and this is based on years of BMW observation, NOT on any actual data, so take it with a grain of salt)... 2015 i8s will be as easy to get as getting a 2015 M3/4. Yes, the demand is very high, but production will be high as well. If you want one, you can find one. Some dealers might get more than MSRP, but most will be selling at MSRP. None will last long on the lot... unless there is a huge dealer markup... those will gather some dust. 2016 i8s will be as easy to get as an M6. That is, there will always be one or two sitting on your dealer's lot, waiting for you. Demand will still be there, but I'll bet you can even bargain a little. This isn't a Supercar. It isn't even BMW's most expensive vehicle. This is a car the BMW will want out there as a sign of their i-future. Therefore they will want lots of them out there. They are still very expensive, as is the 760iL, and the M6 (in all three variants) This is not going to be an artificially limited production car like the Z8 was. This is my prediction. I've been wrong before. And I want an i8 badly... but I predict I'll be able to get one for MSRP in six to nine months from now.

^^We will see, however everything will be based off allocations. If BMW continues its trend as of late which has been giving us dealers low allocations per unit then the car will remain hard to get especially if dealers are only getting 1-2 a year or a quarter.
but like I said we will see, in the meantime I am excited to start seeing these on the roads. They are amazing cars, and I hope you do get one, who knows maybe I will have one myself sometime in the future I do agree about the z8 in fact Sr Thomas actually owns a silver Alpina Z8 But you never know i8 could end up a classic as well no idea what BMW will do down the road the i8 could be a flop and they just drop it all together, I doubt it but ya never know do we.

If dealers mark these up to much, it may do more damage for the new i-brand than good. |

Some dealers will mark up no matter what. I can think of one local dealer that will do it. They did it with the M6 when it came out, which still sat there a year later with "Market Price Adjustment" sticker on it for $25,000 over MSRP.
Some dealers prefer to be honest and reasonable; The car hardly makes a difference. I can't speak for all but I know of at least one person who secured an i8 at MSRP. If you read various threads in this forum you'll likely find others. Over sticker cars in some areas will still get sold because they get the type of customers who walk in and just buy it. |

What does the 10.8k pure impulse package get you? Looks just like the 3k giga package but different leather? Leather is worth 7.8k? Am I missing something?

http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicle...e_impulse.html Still expensive but it's the only way to get those touches. I wish it could be ordered with different interior leather though but it is what it is. |

There goes the fully loaded MSRP. I am happy that I put my money on the list early but not sure if I need any additional extras.....besides laser lights which are not available of course.
Either way, I am stoked to get something totally different from BMW, they have been rather boring lately, my personal opinion of course....... |

Its a wanted, sold out car. Its new and exciting. It always happens when something "new and exciting" comes out. Refer to any of the iphones when they first came out, and were all sold out. On ebay they were going for 2-3X as much. When you could simply wait for one to become readily available in inventory. However, the predicament comes into play when none will be readily available in inventory for quite some time. Supply and Demand 101.
