That was a pretty glowing review. Interesting he doesn't like the way it looks, haha.
Plus points for staying in his own lane in the canyons, unlike Chris Harris - my only gripe with the Harris review |

Amazing to see how positive the i8 has been given how almost everyone was shitting on BMW coming out with a hybrid thinking it could be put in the same sentence with other amazing sports cars like Porsches.

Yeah, it's the most positive press I've seen for a BMW since the 1M Coupe and, before that, the E39 M5. Everything else has been much more divisive and polarizing.

A truly glowing review.
I'll never be able to own an I8 but I hope to ride in one someday to experience what all these reviews are speaking to. I also disagree with one point. I is not the new M. M and all it's tradition and history will live on..... I'm waiting for the M2 before someone makes me eat those words.

I don't know what to make of this. I guess journalists will write anything.

That ought to dispel any rumors that Johnny is a BMW hater. He clearly likes this car... a lot. I can't believe he doesn't find the car attractive though. I haven't seen an i8 in person yet, but when I first saw the photos of the production i8, I was amazed at how close BMW stayed to the concept design. Flatly, amazed. I think the car is stunning.
The design of the i8 stirs all kinds of fantastic emotions for me. I remember going to the NIAS car show when I was in middle school. The show was being held in Miami, and my father bought tickets as a surprise. I was so inspired by the future of the automobile that was on display. The i8 delivers on those promises, and I applaud BMW for that. I really wish I had the money to buy one, because I would in a heartbeat.

I wouldn't say that i is the new M yet, but I bet some young kids would. Ask your son what he thinks about electric cars. Most think they are cooler. I've talked to a lot of younger people who adore Tesla and like the cool electric vehicles. They might just have to put us out to pasture with our loud, smoky petrol engines one day.

I'm glad the i8 is getting positive reviews from just about every publication
I've heard him say in some reviews that the roads he's on are closed, so he's not putting anyone in danger or anything. Haven't seen all of his reviews though so maybe not all of the roads are closed. |

Maybe sometimes they are, but not in the Harris i8 review. Anyway still most people don't probably think the roads would be closed (I didn't) and there are kids (hell and adults too) that look up to guys like Chris Harris who might think, "hey that's cool, he's using the road like it's a racetrack, I can do that too and it will be cool, dude, lol!" It's not a fucking racetrack and it's more of a challenge to drive hard in the canyons while actually staying in your own lane. As a motorcyclist, one of the worst nightmares is coming around a corner with a car coming at you - head on - in your lane. Just saying it's bad form. |

With all the parts that can potentially break in current cars versus parts in an i3 for example, it seems like reliability could possibly go up eh? I think i is the future of BMW especially after that exec said by the year 2020 there would be 80% All-Electric vehicles in their lineup or something like that (I'm sure one of you will correct me on the year, percentage and who said what when )
