Tires for low cabin noise
I guess due to the carbon shell the road condition has an immense influence on the cabine noise. Has anyone an idea which tires produce the least amount of noise?

As far as road noise is concerned, the Yokohama Advan Sports performed well in my other cars. However, I eventually switched to Michelin Super Sports for better handling and longer tread wear.

In my experience properly inflated Supersports are the quietest. Pirellis have been the loudest. Continental Contisport Contact start quiet but get loud relatively quickly.

Keep it in Sport mode. Then you hear the (enhanced) engine noises, not the road. Problem Solved.
Or maybe I misunderstand. Maybe you need quiet for sneaking up on people while hunting pedestrians.

Having had many cars with lots of road noise (porsche 996 turbos, rs's, aston v12v), i can say with authority that this car's problem is not the tyres. It's just how quiet it is!
Paradoxical, i know, but this is what increases the perception of the rolling noise. Everything is so quiet otherwise. |

Well, in my case the ideal sports car has extreme power and grip, and is totally silent, unless I decide otherwise. I'd love to be able to turn off the i8's active sound and enjoy the Harman Kardon audio system with a car producing only a 60db noise level when cruising at 120km/h on the highway.
