BMW Active Sound Booster - Best Exhaust Yet
Well, not really an "exhaust" but enhancing the factory "fake" system, the BMW Active Sound.
The kit contanins everything you need: Maserati ECU sound, BMW I8 bluetooth interface, BMW i8 specific cables, install manual. You can control everything from your phone app, you can set it as loud as you want, quiet as a mouse or everything in between. The app links to your car profiles Confort, Eco and Sport and you can assign volumes, tones and even start exhaust sounds to each one. We did two cars today, it's absolutly incredible and you do not void the warranty, everything is reversible, it takes around 2 hours for the install. Here is a sample of the sound, with sound booster / factory / with sound booster again. http://vocaroo.com/i/s1KStw0jkLQo |

Meh. It's great what can be done with electronics, but to me, it only aggravates the slight discomfort I already have with the fakeness of the original sound.
Does this only work inside the car, or does it affect the sound outside as well? Love the fellow-German fellow talking about having a nice "zound". :-) |

Do you need the external pedestrian speaker? I believe that was optional in Europe - or is there another outside speaker to enhance the exhaust ?
cheers

You already have the speaker, is number 6.
This kit upgrades the sound the speaker makes with a Maserati OEM Sound Ecu, a SoundBooster Bluetooth module and all the parts / wires needed for the install on the i8. Also lets you manage the volume, intensity, "rhythm", idle sound, start up sound, linkages to the car modes via a phone app Update: we managed to make it sound like the exotic lambo v10 today, I'll post a clip later Last edited by ElSpa; 12-21-2016 at 01:23 PM.. |

Cool. I always thought #6 was an option in the UK (and Europe), hopefully it is always there
Is it visible from under the car if I get under it for a look?

You need everything from the first picture I posted (except the springs ): bluetooth module (that's 399), maserati ecu sound (that's another 400), custom made wires, plugs, etc. It comes around 950.
