Ferrari is working on updates for the SF-24 to address weaknesses, particularly traction and changes of direction.
- The updates aim to unlock performance already present in the car but seen only sporadically. - The SF-24 tends to suffer from oversteer, making the rear too light at certain speeds. - Updates will target various parts of the car, including the inlet sidepod, belly, bottom, wings, and diffuser, to enhance overall effectiveness. - The goal is to challenge the reigning world champions, Red Bull, and close the performance gap. - Ferrari's approach contrasts with Red Bull's, as Ferrari wants to ensure the effectiveness of updates before implementing them to avoid incorrect development paths. - Team manager Fred Vasseur seems satisfied with Ferrari's progress and approach, showing attention to key factors without creating unnecessary pressure. - Unlike previous management, Vasseur maintains team tension without overwhelming them with unattainable aspirations. Adrian Newey's down to earth spotlight on the RB20 which is not a new car as such just a continued evolution from the RB18, the 2022 car.
It's actually not massive changes mainly around the cooling and radiators amongst other small things that poke up the pace bit by bit rather than from others who are trying for miracle cures to combat tyre deg and gather tenths. He explains that having the wrong car in the first place won't make upgrades work well. https://racingnews365.com/newey-deni...t-new-red-bull |

Australia is back to number 1. The rightful place in the calendar. I’m doing Japan next year though. Also. Artemis. Fernando has found his home. Also 42 is peak prime. A very young age in the modern world. The brain is at perfection (he is so stable now) The body is in peak condition. Personally that was my best year. But many years later I’d like to keep my current brain and get back my 42 year old physical condition. We can’t have it all though. Think of it as a brain body ratio. He is at peak. 2026 when we get Aston Martin L’Honda. Along with Newey who has a long Aston relationship. Boom. A new era begins. |
