Seat Memory?

Hey fellow IX lovers!
I'm not loving how the seat memory buttons work.

Say the seat is has been moved from position one. THe wife has moved it quite a bit from my position one
So, I open the door, press the button for position one, and the seat moves an inch.
Press again ( and I'm holding it down) and it moves another inch.
Repeat as many times as necessary to get the damn seat where it's supposed to be???
WHY can't a single press accomplish this???
Anyone else have this issue?

I would just try to reset the seat again, 1 press should move the seat properly.

Does it not move to your set position when using your profile with your key/phone/watch?

Make sure each of your keys and your wife's keys are associated with your corresponding profiles. You almost never need to use the buttons on the door to recall seating position.

Physical Key 1 == your profile
Physical Key 2 == your wife's profile
Digital Key+ on your phone == your profile
Digital Key+ on your watch == your profile
Digital Key+ on wife's phone == your wife's profile

Once each key has been paired to the corresponding profile then the car should recall the correct seat (mirrors, etc.) position.

The movement of the seat is also goverened by the drive ready state. If the car is in drive ready mode and the seat occupied the memory selection needs to be held down for the movement to continue.

Only when the car is not in drive ready mode will the seat move fully automated to the desired position.

Are there any differences between the two key fobs?
I actually have never used them so it seems like that’s the issue.
How does one pair the key to the profile?

I would normally copy and paste the section from the manual here but there are about 4 pages to paste for this topic. In the beginning of the manual, there is a section for PERSONAL SETTINGS that I recommend reading through starting with ADDING THE BMW ID. The main thing is to associate each key that you use with a corresponding profile for that user.

I really appreciate the help!
As it turns out, I went through the entire procedure while on the phone with a BMW “Genius”. The car recognizes two separate identities but won’t allow the seat memory function to work on the second ID. He suggested a dealer visit
