You can’t. The files to do so aren’t available…simple as that.

Pretty sure that's correct. TLA was not something that (at least for the US) could be coded by "VO Coding", which is all that is available for newer models currently, including the iX. It required modifying a few individual codes in several different modules, which are no longer available for that "FDL" type of coding.

But yet no CAFD available other than HU_MGU and RAM (at least for the latest update). But I am wondering, is it possible to pay someone to release those files? |

I'm considering getting BimmerUtility w/ dongle to turn on my anti-dazzle matrix lights. It doesn't look like the BU folks will be of much help in providing instructions how to do this. Does anyone know what setting needs to be changed where in BU to enable the anti-dazzle lights? I searched this thread and could not find the information, my apologies if it was already posted.

It would probably be easiest to get it done by BimmerTech in your use case NoMo. You could use E-Sys which comes with BU to do it and then get the signed files from someone online, but if you aren’t familiar with E-Sys I wouldn’t recommend it as it is possible to really screw something up. Better to just pay to let them do it for you.

I've read similar accounts. I just gave it a go. We'll see what happens when 3/2024 is released OTA (maybe in June?)

I think that is only applicable if you are having it done at the dealer where they update every single module. As I understand it, OTAs sometimes do not include updates for all modules, which would mean that nothing would happen if the OTA didn’t include updates for the modules that control the Anti dazzle.

I had an update at the dealer to address other issues and it did not work. The OP who advised this path said he thought there was something different with how they update and relying on original VO versus OTA which would seemingly just write based on the VO in the car. Who knows?

Yes, this works and I’ve done it on both our iX and the XM. It doesn’t seem to work as well as my previous fully coded 2020 X5 but it’s working pretty well.

Was it only an OTA update that enabled it? What’s different from the X5? I have it coded on our X5 and had it on my M550, which my M60 replaced. I miss it! |

i have an ID8 G-Series with heated steering wheel function and the original steering wheel activates heat via button. I have retrofitted a new heated steering wheel without button and trying to enable software control of the heating via idrive. i've coded the function into the ID8 MGU HVAC screen but it does not actually activate the heat. Heated steering wheel diagnostic in ISTA or bimmerutility does activate the heat successfully. I realize it's not an IX but thought someone here may know if this should be possible or what i could be missing?
