Picked up a Storm Grey iX50 M Sport 2 weeks ago and had a chance this weekend to give it a wash! It was a cancelled order my dealer recently took delivery of, so wasn't the exact spec I wanted, but it meant avoiding the 18 month wait I was quoted for a factory order. It replaces a 2021 530d M Sport Touring and is very different.

Loving it more and more each day, it's fantastic for cruising down the highway on a long drive, very smooth depending on which drive mode you're on.

The apple Carplay stuff can be a little finicky when you have multiple user's phones in the car or if you are using something like Spotify elsewhere, sometimes it will start playing in the car when you start it up.

It's everything the 50 is, and just a tad more .... It's not a "Real ///M", but the acceleration, suspension and steering is just a touch better than the xDrive50 variant. It is just as comfortable as the 50, even with the 22s.

That being said, I bought mine sight unseen and not test driven. I had only driven an iX xDrive50 out at Tobay Beach & Six Flags UDE events, and was impressed by the test mules you got to take on the "Street Drives". I really wanted a loaded iX, so when options started getting cancelled for the 50s, I found Day Laborer who hooked me up with a dealer that had a loaded M60 being built the day I bought it that was upspoken for.

+1 on the 22" rims, the ride is very smooth - I haven't had any issues or anything to complain about.

Dark graphite. Couldn't be happier with the color. The contours and balance are excellent to me. I'm drawn to boxier, more upright styles, but this gets it right for me.

I love the XPEL Stealth PPF… I just received the quote for $7500. I'm really considering doing this to my mineral white IX50.

They are 20s. Didn't think about changing anything on the base configuration after it went from a 2022 build to 2023. I think the only thing I added was ventilated seats.

I've read that the mileage is the best on 20s and without anything to compare to, the range really does impress me.

Congrats, yes before the config. update, I believe BMW indicated 330mi range for 20s. Also most comfy/cushiony ride.

Do you like the color combo? I had that in my build originally but changed it to red in fear that the interior would clash with the exterior color.

AlphaM, how are you liking the exterior color so far? Ours is also going to be Blue Ridge Mountain, but of course, I have yet to see one in the flesh. Do you have any more pics that you can share?

I have a iX 50 with sport package arriving this week to NY port. I'm curious to know if the sport package would have M sport brakes with Blue calipers

Thanks in advance.

My understanding of the I20 Ordering guide is that painted blue calipers are added by default with the election of the Sport Package (ZSP)

Check you VIN decoding for 3M1

It's not really clear what type of brakes are on the Sport package for the iX 50 (there is no "M Sport" version like the X5). The brake calipers are blue, but not painted with the "M" logo like the M60 - just plain blue. That said, the brakes are excellent, and feel at least as good as the M Sports on my X5, so they may be equivalent.

Do they produce as much brake dust?
