Mach e owners have the same issues with its GOM (guess o meter). I've found the mi/kwH to be a much more accurate measure of range for a given trip.

We all know (or will soon find out) that range is affected by speed, weather, wind, and rain as well as elevation changes and tire size (18"--20").

This past Friday I took delivery of my i4. Saturday morning I departed from Houston to bring the car to my remote work location in Indiana (1300 miles). Consumption was approximately 3.4 miles per kw at Highway speeds (eg 55, 65, 75) plus 5 mph. With the 19” wheels, the car is spot on with the range. If I maintained 65 mph, consumption dropped (3.6 miles per kw).

I’m quite happy with the car and recommend using the miles per kw on the screen to forecast your range.

Garage List
I’ve got the 20” wheels and so far, in doing the high level math based on SOC and miles left, I’m approximately at the EPA estimated range.

I’ve done two road trips, one from Philly down to Northern VA from the day I bought the car in Philly and drove it home and on another trip to Richmond, VA and back.

Right now I'm at about the EPA range. 20" wheels also.

I have it on very good authority that a BMW lawyer is riding inside our i4 M50s and using his fingers and toes to give you the range readout…they want to underpromise and over deliver!
