I have to correct those numbers to what is available in EU since its an european car. Interior is 18 different colors/leathers, 23 if you include optional extended leather as an option. 8 wheel options not counting new LCI options or M performance aftermarket that can be fitted by dealer pre delivery. 12 exterior colors, not counting the new LCI colors. And i will add 7 interior trims to the list. Except carbon buckets, and msport seats in merino leather you can have the i4 look exactly like an M4 inside. |

Having options is a huge plus but doesn’t erase the 1000 lbs weight disadvantage to the model 3 performance. And I still believe they’re in the same class |

There is no ring of truth to the story and just because they say that and try to blame somebody else is ridiculous they need to own their own shit. The guy fucked up and he killed the motorcyclist. They’re just trying to blame the car and when the investigation is done you’ll see it was the drivers fault and not Tesla’s

Yes, indeed, and Tesla has footage of the driver. They have footage of everything that happened and they know exactly what was going on. They know if the drivers hands were on the wheel they can do an internal investigation and also NTSB will do theirs and this will come out in the wash just like a red sock always does.

And don’t forget, Tesla 3 is a fun car to drive. I love my M2, but my office parking lot used to be full of 3 series and Mercs, and now mostly Teslas. Market will talk. |

Forgetting pure acceleration, haw do the 2 cars compare in handling. Year ago when I test drove the Tesla S,Myles it was fast but only so- so handling. I am sure they have improved but how much?

I didn’t say you did, I said the mods in Reddit. There is a good subreddit called RealTesla. Every member has been banned from the Tesla Lounge and other subreddits because they actually write about their Tesla owner experience, including all the bad stuff. When you try and control the narrative and hide negativity, then you have definitely drank the KoolAid. I’m a mod on i5 Talk and encourage people to post their problems.

I would agree that they are in the same class, but not on the same level. Maybe segment would be a better word? Im not too familiar with car models in the US. But if you categorize cars from size i would say they are in the same segment. EVs made it very easy to just add a buch of power to any model. I think thats why people confuse alot about cars in the same segment at different levels of refinement that can be fast or slow. In EU we had premium cars fitted with smaller engines being most common forever. I think it may be easier to spot the difference if the engine is not the absolute benchmark as to what kind of car it is. Nobody ever compared low cost asian cars with higher hp to a german premium brand just because you only get the 2l engine with 150hp in the german car at the same pricepoint. I think thats where this discussion is loosing direction. At the end of the day Tesla is making a good car, but they are not even trying to be premium in any way. And that puts it in a different category by default when a person is looking to buy a premium car. What Tesla is doing is making the best possible car to fit different segments while strictly maintaining focus on keeping costs down. They are not letting any extra customization or options get in the way of holding costs down. |

I’m a huge BMW fanboi, but I’m likely going to order a new Model 3 Performance this summer for delivery in October when I need to replace my 2023 Audi RS etron GT. I was really hoping for more performance from the LCI i4 M50 to get me back into one (I guess I’ll have to wait until MY2025), but I’m just concerned it really isn’t that much different than my 2023 i4 M50 that I had for 8mos before getting into the crazy Audi deal. I must admit however, that blue paint on the M440i is calling my name…what color is that??
Honestly, I was hoping to extend my RS lease for up to the 6mos limit Audi allows, to buy more time figuring out my next car move and to potentially get better deals on something at the end of the year, but I come to find out that the monthly payment on the Audi would be based not just on my one-payment divided by 12 (which is what I was figuring) but my one-payment plus the rebates I received divided by 12…which comes out to $3600+ per month!!!! Yeah, ok Audi, enjoy the car back, and good luck selling it at the residual!! That said, if Audi were to offer those insane deals again this summer, I would totally jump on another one for 12 more months. I would love a white or Suzuka grey over full red leather, with 21”!

Speaking of red (and I know you don’t care), but Tesla just upped the price $1k…guess Ultra Red is now a no-go if you want the tax credit. Then again, on the way home from work yesterday, I pass this absolutely stunning IOMG over KO M4 that just had so much presence
