I can’t credit we aren’t experiencing the same thing switching between modes. I almost exclusively use ECO Pro, it’s real world performance is plenty quick enough so the other two have barely been used and only then to show off to passengers so maybe the computer needs to learn your behaviour to estimate range and in my case it’s been full throttle on the occasions they have been used.

Since I took delivery on 16/4/2022 I have driven the car easily 90% of the time in Comfort. I have only used Sport+ boost for a nausea inducing, stomach sinking show off lunge

I have taken a few drives in EcoPro (which is good btw....so much better than EcoPro in the i3 or 530e).

Perhaps I need to drive more in EcoPro? Thanks for the feedback and interaction

Just a thought, mine when in for a recall last Friday, I genuinely can’t recall if I noticed the range changing before then but I did now which has me wondering what the recall was and did it alter the range in ECO Pro because up until it went in the best I would see on a full charge was 238-244 miles in ECO Pro but now it’s 274 miles. 🤔

I read about the recall, but from what I can tell it is only European delivered i4. Maybe eventually I will get some OTA software that will change estimated range when switching from EcoPro-Comfort-Sport.

245 miles what's straight 70mph driving isn't bad at all, especially since it has the 20" wheel/tire/arch package. 8% over EPA, so I would say a 19" or 20" (non staggered) would have done 290-295 miles on the same loop.

I wonder is it the production that was just delivered as demo stock to dealers and was actually manufactured before Feb 22?

Will be interesting to see if the recall goes worldwide but I suspect it's catchment is very limited.

The i4M50 continues to impress with the accuracy of its estimated range. Was in London over the weekend and on returning home at the Airport the range said 183 miles, the journey home involved a steep climb over about 3-4 miles and for the most part my speed hovered a little bit north of 70mph, when I pulled up to my door it read 150 miles which I thought was pretty decent considering the speed and the climb and then I checked the distance with google maps and it showed 31.6 miles.

I think a 1.4 mile variation to be exceptional considering so I reckon if it says 240-250 miles on the gauge then as long as you aren’t a lune you will get close even sitting at the speed limit.

Agree! I picked up my M50 last week at the Performance Center and drove it home on Saturday. It’s a fantastic car IMO and is superior in every way to my Tesla….the Supercharger network is the only exception. That said, the ElectrifyAmerica network worked great and it only took a minute or less to get the charging session going. My only real complaint is having to take time to look for the fastest available charger… the first time I pulled in, I mistakenly backed into a 150KW stall and there were two 350KW stalls open.. I just didn’t notice they were different…. Needless to say, the subsequent stops, I made sure I was using the fastest available.

On the trip home, I averaged 2.9 mi/kWh… or roughly 236 miles of range @ 100% SoC. — I made the same trip/route in my Tesla P3D back in April. Both cars did the trip in three stops and roughly the same amount of time at each stop. When I left Greenville, I was at 100% SoC - thank you Greenville Marriott At the first stop (Walterboro, SC) I had 21% SoC. The second stop (Brunswick, GA) I had 17% SoC and the final stop (Ormond Beach, FL) I had 13% SoC. I recharged to 80% each time.

Well done, BMW!

Cheers!

Yes, each charging stop was within the 2-year complimentary 30 min charging plan

I think we in the UK and me over in N.Ireland can’t appreciate the distances you in the States travel daily, to me a long journey is 60 miles. 😂

Needless to say I have only ever charged at home.

Speaking of public charging....let's hope Electrify America gets their sh*t together. Our closest public EA fast charging is at our local Westfield shopping center about 6 miles away. Since our Taycan and i4 have free 30 min fast charging, we like to plug in at EA when we need something at the mall, or to have a quick lunch.

For THREE weeks, 4/6 EA stations have been broken. I have reported it 3x, and the EA operator yesterday actually told me they are called daily about this.

Of course since only 2 out of 6 of these EA fast chargers work, they are ALWAYS occupied. The next closest EA fast charger is almost 30 miles away.

EA was very pleasant, but told me they have no idea when the 4 broken chargers will be fixed and they have a very limited amount of staff. While I hated my Tesla Y, I never saw this kind of supercharger negligence. Horrible for someone who relies on public fast charging.

My daughter has a VW id4 and lives in Culver City. She says she almost never has a problem. Hopefully EA will ramp up services.

Are there any Volta stations in Ca? Usually in Amazon fresh parking lots?

For long drives, say from the performance center to Miami, is that feasible in one day? I normally do that drive in one day, I don't mind driving non stop and only stopping for Gas.

No need to stop for gas with the i4 😉

Funny aside, I won't do more than 250 miles (19" wheels M50) first day. Don't want to be the guy stuck on a side of the road with a new I4.

Just be aware that BMW has set supercharging to a max of 80%, even if you have the car set to 100% charging.

I can only achieve a 100% charge using Level I or Level II.

Obviously for battery longevity, but that extra 20% would be nice on long drives.
