And here is yet one more. It states that the cars delivered this year will be considered 2014 model year. I've read conflicting stories on this, but it would appear this writer asked the question and was told it would be 2014.

Btw I posted this one earlier today as well Might make sense to scour through the thread and edit your OP to add all of the reviews that everyone's added, so new people will see them all in one place in the first post. Then again you might want to wait until all of the additional reviews from today (2nd press drive day) are in so you don't end up having to do it twice. |

I can't forgive BMW for making this car understeer. I just can't. Otherwise I love it! Last edited by lasovan; 04-30-2014 at 11:54 AM.. |

Come to think about it I'm too sure why they didn't use a modified N20 4 pot engine and give it over 400bhp so it could beat the 911 and R8. But what do I know, there was probably a good reason for not doing either. |

MotorTrend review. Note they have a Sophisto Grey i8 so BMW must have had a different set of press cars for the April 29th press drives. That, or they're using different set of BMW-provided stock photos. Does anyone except Chris Harris do their own work these days?
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...8_first_drive/ Note also the use of 2014 as the model year. |

I was talking to the Vice President of AMG products for the US at an event at COTA this week and he's already working on a dealer guide, options, packages, etc. for the AMG GT...a car they aren't SHOWING until Sept at Frankfurt. Meanwhile we're weeks from delivery and years after showing the i8 and nothing on the standard features/options front. Even after the major press drives we're still in the dark about some basic things. Last edited by Carac; 05-02-2014 at 05:26 PM.. |

Here's one more very positive review from Edmund's. Interesting to note their information on how US cars are being spec'ed:
"U.S. buyers of the 2014 BMW i8 have it easy. There's only one i8 and everything is standard, including the wider 215/45R20 front and 245/40R20 rear tires that are an optional upgrade in Europe...There's also a choice between two wheel designs, but at the time of this writing the plan was to offer that option with zero cost consequences." This is consistent with info previously posted based on early info from a US dealer information packet. http://www.edmunds.com/bmw/i8/2014/road-test1.html |

Several more written reviews have come in, but most of the points included in them have been made by other published reviews. I did find this video review from BMWBlog interesting, particularly for how it captured the engine sound. Enjoy.
