Any pics/details you can get of the install would be awesome. Thinking about getting this next.

Jas - please share. I am not too far from Maidstone so always good to have somewhere like this in the back pocket based on a recommendation.

Recommended garage in South East - specifically Kent
In case this is of use to others here, this is the garage I would recommend for modding work.
I have used them for 15 years, working on my various Lotus and Ferrari. The garage works on classics and also race cars, as well as doing high performance mods e.g. engine swaps and supercharging. Fairly priced and honest too. Ask for the owner Andy Marsh. Garage is Maidstone Sports Cars. 01622 890 233 http://www.maidstonesportscars.co.uk/ The exhaust sound mod will be a walk in the park for them. If a number of people of i8 owners want it, it might be worth asking the garage to bulk buy the kits & install for a discounted price. |

Okay, my install is complete. Below I have posted a video (need to make a better one from behind the car) of the interior tone.
The guys at Classic BMW did a terrific job and I'm very happy with the results. However, do understand that you need to find the correct setting for you. This really is much louder than stock......to the point where I find myself turning it down. It's certainly not a negative. Just letting you know the true power of the system. I have found that I like to mess with the frequency and volume, in order to find the right setting that compliments the internal combustion engine. Otherwise, you might notice the two separate tones battling each other. So, I highly recommend taking the time to adjust the system to your liking and find the right balance between the MaxHaust and the BMW ICE. So, here is my first video. I will be getting video from behind the car, as well as drivebys, etc. |

If the transmission failed you would still be covered. And from an insurance perspective you would also need to declare the mod, like you would a change if alloys or stereo change/upgrade. |

it is reversible in under 30min and it changes virtually nothing of the car systems, I went for a oil leak under warranty today (and to order my touch key), the dealer even asked me a few technical questions about the kit, they seemed pretty impressed that it exists

Do you have to be plugged in via Bluetooth all the time?
Or does it just remember the last settings? Could you PM the part codes and any U.K. Installers? |

here is a diy http://bmwi.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1346524 I sent you a pm with the contact details. You don't need it to keep it connected via bluetooth, it remembers the settings, you don't have to have your phone with you all the time, obviously Last edited by ElSpa; 02-05-2017 at 05:17 AM.. |
