When would the MY 2017 cars be expected to hit the showrooms?

No power bump? Same engine and motor output?

Can anyone confirm the power output and size of batteries for the 2017 i8?

Same as other years, the refresh will be a big deal.

new i8 dilemma

hi,

Question for all you experienced i8 owners and BMW aficionados

I am considering buying a new i8 in the UK. I don't want to order a new i8 next month (June) and it arrives in September only to find the new facelift model is announced at the Frankfurt motor show. Then by March 2018 I have an out of date car.

Does anyone think that a 2017 residual value will remain high even after the refresh, or should I wait until March 2018 ?

At the moment, the only confirmed enhancement that I am aware of is that the electric range will be increased with a newer set of batteries. I can't speak for any cosmetic changes or further performance improvements though.

I've been eye-ballin' the market too..
I say - wait..don't do anything 'till March 2018.

Used prices here the U.S. are starting to crater. (just my humble observation)

Wait!!

If you wait long enough there will always be a newer model. With that philosophy you better not buy a iPhone either. Just buy and enjoy...don't look back.
