Usually the "-2CH" refers to two cameras (front and rear) - at least it does for the DR650S.

Sorry to see what happened to your car.
You can use a battery pack - which is shown here https://www.blackvue.com/power-magic-battery-pack/ I have the battery pack - it provides about 12 hours of power when the car is off. The pack is charged in about an hour via the cigarette lighter (when you drive the car) and you can use the lighter that is hidden below the glove box so you don't see the cables. |

Ironically, the i8 has cameras already built-in. Would be good if BMW could make the damn things keep recording (maybe to a USB stick) and keep recording when you're parked.
Anyone bumping into the front or rear would be well captured including license plate due to the height of the cameras and wide-angle lens. I think my front got a light tap recently and the front of the bonnet/hood where it meets the camera is creased - not f**king happy! I'd love to have footage from the on-board camera, track down the guilty person and go medieval on their ass with a coupla pipe-hitting...

You spot the muppets a mile off, cars covered in scratches, loads of shit inside them.... I have a big issue with this, never accept any responsibility insurance bullshit, your mistake, you man up! If people don't take responsibility, no wonder insurance prices are so high...no consequence. |

In the M5 i would be lucky to get the battery pack to last through the night, as where I live its constantly getting set off with a moving tree branch. and I don't want to drop the sensitivity of the motion detection. |

Ordered the DR650S-2CH tonight, with the Power Magic Battery Pack (cig lighter version). Arrives tomorrow. At least it will be before repairing the hood and putting on the wheels
BTW, do you guys use the rear for external or internal? |

Sorry to hear skinrock; makes me re-think my current dashcam and want to push towards the blackvue 2 cam system. Is the difference in model sizes based off of the microsd card or is the size internal and it's something we can't change? In other words, I've got a 128GB microsd card sitting at home, can I order the 16gb system and just use my own microsd card?

Standard microSD slot. I did the same thing - you can save like $30 by getting the 16 gig and buying a 128 gig separately, even better since you have one.

On the m4 it would just drain the battery ( but not kill the battery) so you don't need the cell link battery on the other bmw's . |

Hood literally just arrived today, but I won't take it in until the 9th. Which is good cuz I'm heading to Gintani on Thursday

I filed a claim. Total was like $2600 or something. I know the hood is like $1200 from Tischer.

Oh damn!!! Getting their ECU tune? I'd love to see / feel the difference between stock and tuned.
