Change from manual sport to auto sport

Can u change from manual sport mode to auto sport mode without moving the transmission out of sport mode then back to sport mode?

Can you do it with the paddles shifters?

When I go over a quite RPM be it 5000 or 6000 with full throttle the car shifts on it's own even after I shift up at lower RPM using either the buttons behind the steering wheel or the gear stick on the center console .I don't know if this reply satisfies you .
I can see it changes modes M to S at the right bottom side of the dash gauge panel

While you're in Manual Sport mode, hold the right (+) paddle for 3 seconds and it will go from Manual Sport to Auto Sport

So you can have a false sense of manual mode? Either way it shifts for you at redline.

So I tried it again on my way home. Put the shifter over to the left to engage Auto sport mode. Then I tapped the right (+) paddle to put it in to manual sport mode. Drove for 10 seconds in manual sport mode. Held the right (+) paddle for about 3 seconds and it switched back to Auto sport mode.

I tried to film it on my iPhone as I did it but it was too blurry and dark to record

This never used to work on my '14, but it has had a firmware update recently after a trip to the dealers, I'll try later tonight.

Since the firmware update, I've noticed the electric range prediction change when flipping from comfort into eco-pro which it never used to do (usually adds a couple of miles in eco-pro)

Yeah that didn't work :
You may need an update from BMW for it to work. Before mine didn't work, then after BMW did the update, I was able to pull and hold the + paddle for a few seconds and it went to auto sport Mode.

That has been my experience as well. I thought if you hold right paddle it would do it, but you must move right, then left.

Looks like there has been an update. Holding the right paddle for three seconds returns Sport mode from shift to auto.

My '14 got an update when it went in for a the fuel tank release sensor problem, came back with no online functionality then back in to fix that - I think that's when the software was updated.

I'd ask them to update during the next service or warranty visit, should really be done automatically on these halo cars but I'd make sure and insist.
