Realistic discount from MSRP on a '17?

Anyone worked a deal yet on a '17 and get offered a sizeable discount beyond the $7500 tax incentive?

Federal Rebate: $7,500
Current BMW Option Incentive: $1,000

Some employers have worked out a fleet discount. The highest I've seen is $1,500. Otherwise, anyone who's been a BMWCCA member for over a year can get a $500 rebate iirc.

Some dealers are willing to discount. Occasionally you'll see as much as $2,000 off MSRP.

Yea unfortunately the days of the 5k to 10k dollars off msrp are gone now that they have the flow corrected.

Right now at my dealer their back to msrp + loyalty discount but that's about it.

That's awesome ! probably location dependent I'm thinking. I live in Chicago so EV sales are pretty good here as we have a good infrastructure

<ralfmw> is from Cali, the land of MSRP BMW pricing. If he is getting sub-MSRP pricing, we all should be targeting sub-Invoice prices

I am in NJ, and just started shopping for gen2 i3 pricing (my gen1 is coming off lease in fewer than 6 months). I am targeting invoice +$0 for gen2s (dealer still makes money via BMW kick-backs). Gen1s should be well below invoice.

Not counting the $7.5K Fed credit, we currently have $1K lease loyalty cash. BMW CCA members get further $500 back for REX, $1000 for BEV.

Hey afadeev I'm in the same boat as you with cars haha. I told my CA that my i3 is coming off lease April '17 so I am open to another i3 lease for the wifey pretty soon. He thinks there will be good December end of year programs. I'm trying to find the invoice price on the i3 REx like kinda how we have the F8X invoice sheets. You know who/where we can get it from? I haven't seen it for these cars posted yet.

Quick update:

I worked a deal last night on a 2017 REx, Capparis White, Tera, with Tech+Driving, and Moonroof, for 6% off MSRP. I'll take that!

This should make a nice companion for our 2017 Volt.

Indeed.
The challenge is that BMW has discontinued early-lease termination "pull ahead" program in November, and is unlikely to restart it until January 2017.

Lease "pull-ahead" had been used by BMW NA to spur new sales and stay ahead of MB and Lexus in the top US luxury brand race for the last few years. Alas, BMW has fallen far behind in 2016, and is stuck in 3rd place. It looks like BMW had given up on 2016, and decided to cut incentives for the rest of this year:
http://www.bmwblog.com/2016/10/03/me...-luxury-sales/

Even when "pull ahead" was on earlier this year, ///M and i-cars were excluded, so we may have to set through the full length of the lease term.

I don't remember how I dug invoice prices out in 2014, likely by googling.
The i3 community is not as large and not as aggressive as the ///M crowd.

Here is what I found so far:
Style MSRP / Invoice
60 Ah $42,400.00 / $39,930.00
94 Ah $43,600.00 / $41,050.00
94 Ah REX $47,450.00 / $44,630.00

Now we need to assemble the invoice prices on all the options.
The few I found so far come in at 8% mark-up over invoice:
- Photonic Blue color MSRP of $700 vs. invoice of $645
- HK audio MSRP of $800 vs. Invoice of $735
- Parking assist package with MSRP of $1000 vs. Invoice of $920

More data here, but it's not entirely correct (e.g.: Monroof's MSRP is $1K, not $800):
https://www.truecar.com/prices-new/bmw/i3-pricing/

Credits in effect for Nov'16:
- $1K BMW Loyalty Credit

Nice, that's pretty close to Invoice pricing (assuming you also got full -$7.5K Fed credit, and -$1K BMW loyalty credit).

What fees and financing terms (MF) did you get?

I did get the full $7500 fed tax credit and a MF of 0.00134. I didn't qualify for the BMW loyalty since I wasn't coming off of a BMWFS vehicle. Other fees were just misc b.s. things like doc fees. My effective payment is high due to some negative equity, but I can certainly live with it for 36 months with paying little to nothing for gas

In case anyone was curious, this is the vehicle we parted ways with for the i3. I can't say it was an easy decision, and I'm sure I'll miss the exhaust note (roar?) and raw power of that little P-SAV, but I certainly won't miss the 17 mpg in town or the $140+/mo in fuel costs, or the $760 service visits, or the 3.5 hr drive to the dealer, or the two for the price of two tires when you get a puncture in one of them but you have to replace both of them because of the AWD system....yeah, the i3 is totally worth it

Assuming they did not mark up the MF on you (BMW FS allows that, but .00134 is the confirmed default lease rate on M3/4 cars) and you did not buy it down with MSD, then the current (Nov'16) lease terms for MY'17 appear to be:

Term = 36 months
Residual = 58% on both BEV and REX
Mileage limit = 10K/year, 30K total
MF = 0.00134 (3.22% APR)

Note, the above applies to MY'17 cars only.
MY'16 cars are likely to get more aggressive terms to clear the inventory. I don't know what those are.

The above #s are not that great, but appear to be what BMW FS is currently offering.
MF is historically high, residuals are somewhat low, and there doesn't appear to be a 24 lease term.
When I leased mine in 2015, my MF was .00083 (1.99% APR) and 24 month residual was 63%. But that was on a year-old car at that time (leasing MY14 in calendar 2015).

Those BS fees can quickly add up to thousands of dollars. Always keep an eye on them!

The gas savings are real.
I ran the #s on my current MY14 lease, and gas savings shave $150/month from lease payment for me, or roughly 1/2 the cost.

I was wrong on the last count.
24/30/36-month terms are all available.

.00134 MF on all three, and 64%/61%/58% residual for each (for 10K miles/year).

Also, for 36m term: 12K / 15K mileage residuals are 57% / 55%.

Good info man! I'd rather stick to the 2 year cycle and get the latest greatest especially at the 64% residual.

Yeah, same here.
Plus, Model 3 should be obtainable by mid-2019.
2-year cycle would be just about perfect.

confirmed with dealer no early pull ahead on Ms and i-cars. Will have to wait til spring to see if there are better incentives for 2017s. Going to just ride this lease out.

So I just got a 2017 BMW i3 REx two days ago in Protonic Blue, and it's my first non-white car. I LOVE IT!

MSRP was 53295, I paid 48000, just short of 10% discount, plus 7500 fed incentive, bringing down the total cost of the car to be 40500. 30/12 60% residual value, I am paying 344 including tax in California. I got it with Deka, Tech, Parking, and HK audio. Now I wish I got Tera, but I couldn't give up the matching blue accent on my Deka seats

Can you PM me your details? That's where I'd like to be on one but would like to know total out of pocket costs.

Thanks

Trying to figuring out the math on this. What was the purchase price before incentives? Looks like they just gave you 5% off MSRP? I haven't been following '17 models but is that all they're doing off nowadays? Whats the residual % on 24/10k?
