Lease Deal. Please Advise
I've got M6 36 mo lease up begining April '17
There'a an i8 (can get all the specs but the bottom line is the )stickered $150K plus wheel warranty (I am not sure if that's $1K or 2K+) How's this deal sound? Lease return early Drive away $3k (all fees including first mo payment.) 36 mo 15kmi/year Payement including taxes right $1950/mo Any help is much appreciated. I can get any specific numbers pertinent to the vehicle/deal if needed. When I crunch the numbers they seem good but it seems like I am seeing better deals out there (but that may be the suck you in numbers not including taxes and every other ding.) Thanks a lot guys. |

It is hard to judge, as you are rolling negative equity in. Negotiate the lease before you bring in the negative equity. It is hard for us to judge the deal with that factor.
Ask for the MF they are using. -- EDIT: Just re-reading your post. Are they taking your M6 back free of charge without making you make anymore payments? If so, this deal is terrible. |

Yes. About $28K bad. With 4 months left on the M6 lease that's throwing away at least twenty large.

Given the incentives this month and the BMW loyalty what would a good deal look like w and without the remaining months on my current lease?
$150K Sticker +$2K wheel insurance 15K miles/year 36 month lease What would be a great monthly payment? ($3K down including all taxes, fees and first month payment) Thanks! Edit: I am by no means an expert but here's the math as I understand it to determine a good lease deal http://www.realcartips.com/leasing/0...ase-deal.shtml I did the calculation including the tax (which I should not have) so the bottom line would've shown a better deal if I I hadn't. I did the calculation without allowing for them paying off 4-5 more payments (M6) also would show a better deal had I done that. And I didn't factor in the $2K wheel package they are covering. I am not seeing how this is a bad deal at 15K mi/year. All that said I am at like $132/10,000 and for by the link's math they suggest $141/10K at only 12,000 mi/year. What am i missing? Your help is very much appreciated. Last edited by jonnyM6; 11-25-2016 at 04:34 PM.. |

Thanks all of you! Especially MikeGG--what a solid guy!
Gave a tutorial/rundown. I feel like I've got lease deals (more or less.) Surprisingly, I never took the time to get more than the real basics. I'd look at a basic calculator online etc. Now I can get into the heart of it. Leaving my M6 out of the deal to either enjoy until the lease is up or figure if it's got equity etc. The deal now looks like 149,900 MSRP 21,000 off 2K wheel tire package paid for by them 36 months 15K mi/year $3k down at signing Should be $1408 mo--starting month 2. Over the phone they were about $70 higher but he was driving. The deal should look like above? Any thoughts? |

The i8 is still as intoxicating all these months later- kind of cool how local people know it's you when they see the car (when people in my building ask who's it is- it's always "that young dude with all the tattoos and cute bulldog" ahahahaha) How's everything with you and the family? I've PMed the gentleman already- hopefully I can work my magic this holiday season as I was able to in the summer

Got the PM Sugar. Thanks!!! I responded.
And thank you to all the board members that have helped me out. Never took the time to understand lease deals. I got it now! Thanks again! Quickly check this out: So MikeGG helped me back all the numbers in the deal. Long story short. The guy at the dealership, my "friend" told me the calculator we are using is wrong. Dude, it's an f'ing calculator it's not an opinionator. I ask how's it wrong? We didn't account for dealer fee, cap cost reduction, tag fees etc. Actually we did to the tune of $1600. By his numbers--when we backed them in his "fees" were well over $8,000.00!!! So glad I turned to the board here!!! Thanks a lot!!! Damned!!! |

Obviously - an i8 isn't cheap and shouldn't be so unrealistic to have a "700-900" dollar payment without a cap cost reduction. But (most) dealerships instead of trying to build a long lasting relationship with a client, end up screwing them over. It's why I appreciate GOLFFRR and Steve Thomas BMW so much. They're willing to work with you, and while you MAY find a better deal sometimes, they're upfront and rarely won't match/beat it. They understand a happy costumer is a repeating one. We'll be in touch in the coming weeks

Both of my local dealers tried to screw me over....I had already been to this forum before going to my local dealerships and knew they were being shady immediately (I had used forums for Porsche's in the past and knee the value of comparing deals). Wish I had gone to Steve Thomas when I lived 15 mins away...either way I'm sending all of my LA friends their way!! |

All is well. Waiting on the M4 GTS! I saw that you will be spending a little more time south of the border in another thread. I'm all about saving the money, as well. Unfortunately here, south of the border means the Gulf of Mexico! Thanks for helping the OP out...we i8 brothers have to stick together!

If I forgot, it was utter rubbish. I can't believe anyone fell for that bit of marketing and rebranding from VW. It was the same when I drove the Lamborghini Aventador a friend loaned me...crap on a cracker.

I am looking for an i8 lease in Dallas, Texas. Does anyone have a good contact around here? I have a car to trade in, so it has to be a local guy unless they can pick up my car. I talked to Steve Thomas BMW and they give me good numbers but I need to take my car to LA. Any help is appreciated.

Stick your trade in on a transfer truck and ship that sucker if the math works out.
I shipped a car from Fort Lauderdale to LA and it cost me $800 or so in 2012. It might be cheaper to do that, instead of getting a deal that's not as good in Texas. Steve Thomas is setting up my Performance Center Delivery...I'll have my i8 in a few weeks (no trade in)!! I'm so excited! |
