Tire wear is bad

Anyone else get horrible tire wear out the 20" tires. I have 16k and noticed today that they are complete worn down.

Yes I was close to bald at 19k. It’s supposedly well known that the tires on the i3 wear out quickly and anything over 20k is lucky.

19" or 20" tires - same problem.
Narrow and relatively soft tread gets worn quickly. 15-20K miles before you hit wear bats is the norm.
For comparison, my M3 has 2x the width of the (rear) tires, and therefore, 2x the rubber surface area over which to spread the rubber wear!

Add the fact that one of the tire water channels (outboard one?) is shallower than the other, and no-one I know or heard from has managed to lease-return an i3 without buying a new set of tires.

Luckily, tires are cheap at ~$150/per (+$5/per for 20's) from TireRack.
Double that if you are buying from a dealer.

Related note, does anyone else find the i3 handling less squirrelly as the tires wear?

When these ecopia tires are new I feel a lot more tram lining than when they are worn down. I've just hit 40k miles on this set and the outside shoulders are worn but the handling is so much smoother eg on sections of 101 with concrete gaps/cracks and non perpendicular train line crossings.

I also recognize safety first, so switching to my winter setup now it's changing seasons and replacing the summer tires while they're not needed.
