Wow, only $1200 increase to go from 2016 60Ah to 2017 94Ah modules. Very, very reasonable. Crazy cheap, even!
The math comes down to $1200 for an extra 12.5kWh (22kWh / 60Ah * 94Ah = 34.5 kWh). That being said, we don't have pricing for the 2017 60Ah option. To put this in perspective, Tesla is charging $8500 merely to unlock 15kWh on the new artificially limited 60 kWh model, bringing it back up to the 75 kWh battery actually fitted.

If BMW doesn't drop the price of the old 60Ah battery cars, they wont' sell many of those. My bet is that the MSRP of the old price will either go down, or there will be massive financing subsidies exclusive to the 60Ah cars (higher residual, lower APR, etc). My guess the delta will be a bit over $1.2K, but below $3.85K for a REX. a

BMW of Germany and Canada already have 2017 i3 model on their websites.
You can configure one on the german website. When is the US 2017 model showing up on bmwusa.com?

New Zealand has them too.
You can see the interest on this site the i3 is over. BMW is bringing many plugin hybrids to the market over the next 5 years which will have more interest than the i3. They'll be standard looking vehicle with a plug panel only showing the difference as you can remover all the EV badges.

I find this disappointing. I would love a BEV with high range in the BMW lineup!
