Need i8 in Northern VA/MD for Wedding Photos

Hey Everyone,

My sister is getting married at the end of July. She wants an i8 instead of a limo. Any i8 owner out here that will allow us to park the i8 outside of the church, then they want to take pics with the car and then the groom wants to drive off the church parking lot in the i8, strictly for the wedding video. After drive off, they will u-turn and come back. Church is in Silver Spring, MD. Apparently my 750Li Individual is not fancy enough for her. Please let me know if this is possible. I appreciate it. Thanks.

How much are you offering for the rental?

I own no garage queens. If it's in my driveway, it's been ridden hard and put away wet. ...and now, with a light crust of Maine road salt.

Can be discussed, only need the car for about 35-45 minutes actively and will need the car parked at the church for about 3-4 hours.

Its an indian wedding, so their outfits are a bit more complicated. Practice will be a good idea. Thanks will let them know.

Which means separate "training sessions", as the groom isn't supposed to see the bride in her gown before the wedding!

Not really my business, but why would they want, for the rest of their lives, look at a wedding video in which they drive off in a car that isn't theirs?

Isn't it the same thing as those who ride off in a limo?

I highly doubt most people who get married and take pictures driving off in it own the limo.:

A limo is a limo. Invariably rented. An exotic car may be owned by the lucky (or unlucky) couple. I agree with Aye-eight. And it's pretty clear the people who want to do this have no idea how difficult it's going to be to get and out of the car. Especially after a long wedding and a few drinks.

But if they want comedy . . .

A few drinks after the wedding ceremony? Unless I read wrong- the car would be parked, then driven off for show and immediately returned. I don't think it would be after the reception.

I'm not saying I would do this. Even if I still had my i8. But I've also heard of much more "odd" wedding requests.

As long as it doesn't bother me- all power to them. Let them remember their day the way they want to.

First there's the ceremony, then there's the party. After the party is the drive off. Some ceremonies can last for hours. Ditto the parties. I'm not saying they'll be driving DUI, but a little bit tipsy can make getting in and out of an already difficult car even worse. Especially with an elaborate wedding dress.

The bride and groom have no idea what they are getting themselves into.

Indian weddings are way different. Ceremony is the morning in silver spring, they do the drive off from the church (no drinking allowed in the church), then break time for about 4 hours, than the reception is in Bmore that evening. After the drive off and u-turn, they will be done with the car.

My sister's fiance has a good job, but is uber conservative with his money, he drives a 10 year old Altima, so he thought for the wedding it would cool to drive off in a car that he would probably never buy.

drive away car

In the last 5 years there has been 2 handfuls of friends and family get married, the limo has been done, the old school and new rolls has been done. I can't change their mind. I can rent an i8 on turo.com for $799 for the day (24 hours), but they only want it for like 4 hours.

Great. They won't be tipsy. What will they be wearing, especially the bride?

Have you (or they) ever tried to get into or -- more importantly -- out of an i8?

Jeez, sounds like a cool idea to me. I do not find ingress egress difficult. I hope someone in the area helps out. Slim possibility a hungry SA might go for the publicity.

Yes, I have been in and out several times. Almost considered buying one, until the doc told us he heard 2 heartbeats when my wife was preggo.

If I was closer I would have had no problem with the request, without charging a rental fee!

Eh, either way. It's their wedding. All power to them.

I'm a modern day Fonzi so marriage is not something I ever have to worry about
