Just record the sound of the M3 and put a loud speaker outside on the i3... Bam done!

The I3 is almost a decade advancement in technology and....is it twice the price of a M3

Lets hope it does something better.

Are you thinking about the i8? The i3 is about half the price of an m3.

Looks like this is all about traction...and the M3 had none until 2nd gear. Has nothing to do with torque. I'd probably lose to an i3 too if it were wet outside.

How did the magazines get 0-60 in 3.9 seconds with the stock M3? Because it has no torque?

Isnt the i3 1300 pounds and its made of carbon fiber...its going to be fast from 0-45

All the m3 owners is going to claim "oh no traction on the m3...."

Longboarder, you're completely missing the point here; you're better than this. The E9X definitely has low torque because peak torque is only 295 lb-ft.

Shape of the torque curve, gearing, and actual performance figures don't mean anything.

When we get an M3/M4 with a higher stated peak torque, all the magazine racers will finally be happy.

Not really, I'm hugely impressed that the i3 has the same accelerative performance as a GTI (except the GTI will keep going to 130). I have no need for an i3, but it's a great car.

My badd. You are right. That's why everybody buys 335's because it comes with 300 lb ft and ours comes with 295.

The e9X M3's were absolute failures in the mind of BMW which is why the new M3/M4 will get the n55 (335) motor.

The M3 roasted it once it got traction.

I got to drive the golf cart at a drive event a couple weeks ago. Interior was terrible, car was an epic bore.

It didn't have traction.

I drove a i3 recently, it is not anywhere near as fast as my M3 or my old 135i.

Shouldn't the M3 have above avg traction thanks to launch control?

This video is a good example of technological advancements. Don't be surprised if the F8x replacement is hybrid/turbo like the next generation GTR

Lol. I did this today en route to Chipotle. I usually try not to if I know I'll turn soon after the pass.

M3 looks and sounds a hundred times better than the i3. Sorry, I wouldn't pay $15K...forget paying $45K for what looks like a refrigerator on wheels.

Wrong.

E92 M3 0-30 is 2.1sec

i3 0-30 is 3.5sec.

People the i3 is slow. 0-60 in 7 seconds.
