Auto adjust speed limit.

I recently had an i4 as a loan car whilst mine was at the dealer's. There didn't seem to be the option to set the speed limiter to adopt the current speed limit. I have that option with ID7, does it exist in ID8?

Maybe it didn't have ACC?

Thanks.

I always assumed that the "active" part of the ACC was it's ability to maintain a set distance between you and the car in front. Maybe "active" also includes automatically adopting speed limits.

Did you hit the "set" button once the posted speed showed up on the display? On our 2024 i4 that will set the speed automatically to the posted speed.

Does it then automatically change each time the posted speed limit changes (i.e. without the need to press the SET button)?

With ACC, you can set it so it changes to the speed limit automatically without having to hit the SET button (in the UK at least).

I have not found it to do that. There may be a setting for that but if there is I missed it and just hit the set button when the posted speed limit changes.

Thanks.

My car with Driving Assistant Professional and ID7 does have the option to automatically change to the posted speed limit, and it works with the active cruise control and the speed limiter. Maybe that’s a feature that is no longer offered with ID8?

You can code with Bimmerutility to adapt automatic speed limit during ACC but coding isn’t straightforward. I had coded auto speed limit and traffic lights recognition but since new iDrive update I decided to not recode them.

In my i5 when I activate cruise control it sets to the speed I’m going. Hitting the SET button with cruise active it changes to the current speed limit +6mph offset that I configured in iDrive 8.5.
