BEV owners - question about your Nav and Points of Interest/Charging

So my 2017 i3 has almost 800 miles on it after 2 weeks, 2 days! Been charging at home but recently while out I thought I'd check to see what charging stations were around. Got a bit lost poking around Nav so came home and found an online tutorial from BMW. It shows "Charging Stations" as an option in Points of Interest.

Guess what? In my BEV i3, under Nav/Points of Interest, I don't see Charging Stations. I see Fuel Stations! Anyone have any idea what's going on there?

It's true that on any Guidance map, I see both fuel and charging station icons. But within the map, I don't see any way to select a particular icon for more info or to choose it as a destination.

I've sent a similar inquiry to the BMW Genius email. Will see how fast/slow they get back to me, and how helpful the reply is. Guessing this forum will have a possible answer for me before the Genius does...

Do you have "standard" or "upgraded" Nav (latter comes with the porky Technology pack)?

I bet the former, which may explain lack of certain features.
Most of those could be coded back in manually, if you are so inclined.

I went porky and got Parking and the Tech package. I like a lot of the upgraded Nav features but this is one thing I don't like! If it needs to be coded I want my dealer to handle that...

Same issue, i have prof nav. They should add POI charging stations.

Plugshare is your best bet.

I sent an email to BMW Genius and they repeated the same things the BMW "manual videos" say - that charging stations IS an option under Points of Interest! Here's their exact words:

"There should be an option for charging stations when you select points of interest under your main navigation screen. Another way to view charging stations should be in the navigation map on the left hand side settings. There should be a plug symbol that can be selected and display nearby charging stations."

They didn't acknowledge that I specifically said I don't have that, I have an icon for "fuel stations." And then they said to contact the dealer or call the BMW Genius Hotline. I'll try the hotline later today.
