What NEW car would you buy, mod and have best bang for buck?
What NEW (not used) car would you buy, immediately mod, and have a track/drag/street race beast with the best bang for the buck?
I’m thinking the new Mustang GT. It’s a relatively inexpensive, great performer off the lot with a ton of aftermarket, inexpensive support. The warranty you waste with the mods may not come back to haunt you like other cars. Which off-showroom car would you buy and what would you do to it if money IS an object to get the best bang for the buck and have alot of fun in the process? |

I’d say GT350 or ZL1. Either one with a tune and shorter pulley belt if possible.

Why mod cars that are already highly strung?
Something with a relatively docile engine would be better bang for buck surely? What's the cheapest car going around with a 3T in it? |

Brand new Mustang GT350R will be my choice.
Mod will one simple:”Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 HPE850 Supercharged Upgrade by hennessey Probably not the best bang for the buck lol... Regular Mustang GT350 and just do a ecu tuning might be better bang formthe buck. |

zl1 probably, no waiting 5 years for an ECU unlock like with BMW and monster stock power can be made into a 10 second car easily

ZL1, you can just leave it stock with a full warranty (even on the track) and be very entertained, and if you decide to mod, options are relatively inexpensive and limitless

Camaro ZL1. Not sure anything can compare right now for bang for the buck.

Ideally it needs to be super charged.
Maybe a new Camaro with a stock blower. (Zl1)Then a smaller pulley and power upgrades and off we go. |

I'd prefer the ATS-V (actually considering one), but would buy used due to its wonderful depreciation. Topic asked for new cars though.

For me? Not new, I buy used. But if it has to be new for this thread, give me a C7Z or ZL1 or Hellcat.

When people talk about value... no matter how much HP is mentioned, I don't see anything above 40K as a value... for most people that is still a very expensive car... and with that price range, I think a GOLF R w a nice stg 2 turbo becomes a solid option. Mustang GT w a supercharger if you want American...
