I've had a few strange things occur the last few days:

1. 3 days ago - control display when completely black while driving, then about 30 seconds later reset itself and turned back on

2. Yesterday - navigation wouldn't turn on; screen was stuck saying 'starting navigation system'; also noted that in office my messages were not available; went to the dealer (an hour away); they reset some module to get it working again; said something about sometimes updates on phone if connected by bluetooth can cause glitches?

3. Yesterday - returned home with 11miles remaining on the battery - it had charged in sport mode while driving home; plugged in and it said about 2 hours later I would have a full charge; came out to unplug the car couple hours later, when i unlocked the door, it now said full charge in another couple hours, and battery was still at 11 miles! I had checked the connected app before coming out which told me it was supposed to be at full charge in about 10 minutes.

Any ideas?

Obviously needs to go to dealer for nos. 2 & 3.

Back in January 2015 I had no. 1 occur once, at night. Never happened again.

Sigh. Taking back to the dealer is what I'm dreading. Maybe I'll give the i concierge and see what they have to say.

The only thing different in my car is the fuse tap for my RD I did about a week ago. I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with these glitches though.

For 1 and 2, have your dealer update the car. There has been several new releases since the beginning of the year. They will do it for you if you report problems such as the symptoms you've reported.

For 3, this is normal. The battery gauge will change its estimated (key word being estimated) range based on your driving patterns.

An addendum related to oddity #3:

Now whenever I charge my car (home, Level 1), the estimated battery range consistently shows 16 miles, as opposed to previously varying anywhere from 13-18 miles.

Also, I noticed that my bmw app will indicate 'fully charged' now, as opposed to previously indicating 100% charged. When I took the car to BMW, they told me they re-programmed one module, and that I would have to re-pair my bluetooth devices. Not sure if that has something to do with this.

FWIW, a sales guy at the dealership told me that sometimes the 12V battery loses charge if the car has been sitting for a long time. Perhaps the 12V is properly charged now?

I had 1 and 2 about 12 months ago. Happened once, but never again. Car has been in for other stuff and updated since.

For 3, probably weather related? Milder temps eeks out more range?

I was thinking that as well, just odd that now it is always 16 miles.
