Cool Megacity Vehicle to be Showcased at 2012 London Olympics

BMW is the exclusive vehicle partner of the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games and it will be using this position to showcase its Megacity electric cars, in nearly production form. The global viewership and exposure of the Olympics presents BMW with a unique opportuity to showcase the Megacity car on a huge global scale.

The only Megacity car variation shown so far is a carbon fiber passenger cell, 4-seat, rear wheel drive, 100% electric vehicle, with its motor underneath the vehicle floor. Future The Megacity line of vehicles is expected to become a sub-brand (perhaps reviving the Isetta nameplate) under the BMW moniker and will likely be on sale in 2013.

The 4-seat (5-door) model will be introduced first, with a 2-seat (3-door) variant to come later. A micro-sports car, micro-sedan, and micro-activity vehicle are also under consideration.

For those of you who didn't catch it previously, see the following thread for BMW's official announcement and photos of the BMW Megacity vehicle concept: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=404080

Isetta nameplate deserves to be resurrected - many countries used to make it, but none of them used carbon fiber body and an engine from a hand drill.
