How many Test Vehicles do they have on the streets?
I saw (maybe) this car yesterday in Munich. Stunning in the streets. |

I do wonder if the instant throttle response of the i8 may catch some drivers out in the rain. I know I once had a dicey situation in a Tesla when I failed to account for the lack of throttle lag and opened the throttle too early.

A little odd that the right door would be flung open like that. I wonder if these scissor doors behave differently in accidents than normal doors.

Wow. My heart skipped a beat a second when I saw the front page. I though, "noon, not an i8!"
Just to echo others' sentiments, glad to see no injury, no death, no fire, and that the i8 appears to be as safe as we know BMW cars to generally be. |

Are you guys serious? If bmw purposely put the life of the driver and public at risk they would be screwed if caught

Why does everyone have such a hate for the Tesla.....yes there was an incident where one caught fire, but I am sure we can all do a little digging and find a news article about a (insert BMW model # here) catching fire or having a less than desirable outcome to a collision.

I noticed the wet weather. This is why whenever there is rain I drive conservatively. Don't care what kind of car I may be driving there is just too many surprises. Ever notice those Ring crash videos? Nearly all those wipe out are on wet roads. Dry roads is playtime. #End of PSA

I saw two of these rolling down the strip together in Vegas this past July in full camo... It was pretty sweet. Glad the driver is ok.
