Lease Credit Rebate

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I am in the market for an i3 as my commuter car and have a couple offers the table to weigh out my options.

The first option is a one time lease payment of $11,810 and I am payment free for two years.

The second option is the monthly lease special on and i3 BEV.

Essentially its $181/mo + Tax for 24 months

MSRP: $44,395
Selling Price: $40,500

Amount Due-

Customer Cash: $5,850
Lease Credit Rebate: $7,500
Total = $13,350

My main question is what is Lease Credit Rebate? and will i ever get that cash back?

I've attached both of the deals to this post, any info helps!

Thanks

My thoughts on a 1 and done deal - not good. If something happens to the car like getting totaled, your 1 payment is wasted.

I would also expect some kind of cost advantage to paying 1 lump sum, but the total payments for both deals are similar (taking into account the MSRP for the 1 pymt car is higher than the lease deal).

Just my thoughts
Thats what i was thinking as well, unfortunately WA state does not have the same deals as california. I was recently in San Francisco and they have a one time lease payment of $6888 for 24months. I was hoping I would be able to get a deal like that but i guess different states have different deals.

The deals are National.

What varies state-to-state is how the major fees, taxes and rebates are calculated and applied.
In some states, you get state-level kick-back for registering an EV.
In others, you get 0 tax on buying an EV.
Elsewhere, you get credit for installing an L2 charger at home, etc, etc.

Just because you don't see the same deal in WA as you would in CA or NJ has everything to do with your local dealer trying to get lucky!

Yes he did mention that WA state does not get any incentives such as the $2500 credit people would get in CA.

I guess will do a little bit more research on what people are paying on the forum.

btw you do have an awesome combo with the SO f80 and the i3! How is that working out for you?

Actually, WA does have EV incentives, it's just that your legislature capped it under the price-point of BMW and Tesla EV's (can you say campaign contributions from Nissan and GM ;-):

Here is a one-shot view of state and federal incentives across the US:

Thanks.
F80 is a keeper, and every time I drive it, it's pure joy.

i3 is is a commuter vehicle to keep miles of F80. And a winter beater.
Driving dynamics are a bit disappointing relative to M3, but return from a business trip, it drives better than most of the rentals I had tried.
Running cost of 2c/mile (vs. ~10+c/mile for most ICE's) doesn't hurt.

On a parking lot, dudes and teenagers will salivate over the F80.
Women will flock to the i3
