Yes, I saw an article somewhere the other day about some recent breakthroughs in nanotechnology. Really interesting stuff.
http://www.nanomagazine.co.uk/index....-battery-power Just like a computer in 1950 was the size of a house and today you can store more information in a thumb drive than that computer could ever dream of storing, let alone processing, the battery tech breakthroughs will happen sooner than later. Gotta love technology |

Imagine if we have double, or much higher battery density, in 8 years time. Easily achievable I would imagine.
Those who still have our i8 cars would most likely be able to replace the batteries with newer ones and have either 2-3x more electric range, or reduce weight by 100-150kg for better all round performance A 100-150kg weight reduction on my current petrol car would be mind blowing, but is practically unachievable. |

Funny thing is, the pace car is going to sound a lot better than the race cars themselves!
No, scratch that, as a whole, the pace car is going to be a lot more exciting than the race cars themselves! |

Don't read anything into the banner - I'm a massive M fan and so, purely out of artistic license, decided to use the opportunity to nod to one of my favourite automotive brands! The purpose of the image was more to convey the general idea of what a liveried i8 with blues and twos might look like. Interpret it as an Easter egg, if you like! ~AU |

You had me fooled with the photoshop skillz, haha. I can usually spot those things but didn't think into it too much amidst excitement for the i8 being the Formula E Safety Car!

Interesting article about wireless charging of cars inc. issues with charging the i8: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-new...-roads-in-2017
I was surprised to see how efficient wireless charging is compared with a wired (plug-in) set-up - 90% vs. 95% - not as much in it as I thought they'd be. T |

Tilum, that is very interesting indeed. I too am surprised at the efficiency claims made by Qualcomm. Would be great if independently borne out.
Not so useful at home, but could be excellent in public parking space and service stations. So long as it is not too expensive to install - requiring digging up the surface. |
