Creaky doors

Just had my i8 down to the dealers for the annual checkover and mentioned the creaky doors (thought maybe alignment as others have said).
Dealer said door struts need replacing, haven't driven far enough to see if there is an improvement but was quite surprised.

The struts don't open too well in cold weather but not enough of a problem to worry me and sometimes hand when there is a car next to me and the door doesn't go fully up! Anyone else seen reduced creaking after a strut replacement?

Rotate the plastic Sleeve around the struts when door is open and you are sitting in the car. That took the creaking away for me.

My driver side door was creaking pretty bad, and the warm weather made it worse. So I had the strut replaced last week. The creaking is now gone, thank goodness.

Good tip!
I'll have a look and see if they replaced the whole strut or just fiddled with the cover.
