Chris Harris Reviews BMW i8
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Chris Harris takes a 24 hour trip to Los Angeles to drive the new BMW i8. He hated the flight, but the i8 left a positive impression on the team. Capable of 23 miles all electric before the 3-cylinder turbocharged motor kicks in to recharge the batteries. This is one of the closest production cars we've ever seen that looks almost identical to the concept car it's based on. |

Awesome, thanks for posting this!! Been looking forward to it.
"4 squirrels and 8 pots of yogurt at the front axle, and a large buffalo at the back" Chris Harris is the man. And, he went to In-N-Out with the i8. Pure awesomeness. Watching him drive in the canyons was all I needed. |

I have to say that this was a much more entertaining and enlightening review than many of the written ones. For one thing, one can sense his enjoyment of driving the car from the video much more so than to read about it.
Loving the i8 more than ever. |

I was hoping someone else would notice the GC too!
Excellent review (or should I say, sublime ). I always loved the way the i8 looked since the beginning and the way it truly stands out on the road. Although it's not a V10 600+hp supercar that every BMW fan really wanted, BMW's goal with the i8 was the show the true potential of an electric hybrid, and they did definitely achieve that with the i8. This car was a vision brought to life, and even though I sometimes wish it could have been BMW's entry into the supercar world, I'm glad where this landed anyways.

This iteration is not for me. For some reason I'm just not moved by this vehicle. When I saw it at Jacobs house I glanced at it and moved on. Good review as usual.

Great review and good idea to stop for a double double from In & Out.
I have the same "fakery" sound in my 550i cabin and it drives me crazy. I thought it was interesting that the i8 "fakery" sound still reminded him of driving a 911. Thanks for the post. Now give that man a M3 to review |

Pretty much the review I expected. Chris made sure to highlight the positives while still letting you know about the negatives, but overall, leaving a great lasting impression. Nicely done.

Seems like interesting car to admire from an engineering and technology standpoint. I suspect the price tag will remain prohibitive since $140,000 pits it against much more worthy cars, and ultimately rendering the i8 more of a fashion and wealth statement than an actual sports car. Like an early day Prius, only for sport car poseurs.
But the bottom line, is that it is a cool BMW. Thanks Chris! |

Would you still get the model S vs this Don't get me wrong Tesla has a great product but there is a good chance that BMW with its heritage and $$$ behind it, will bring electric cars that are just as good if not better. Let's face it, model S is hideous It's a electrical honda Accord. The i8 is light years ahead in design
