I have been a BMW fan for last 20yrs, currently have X5 M50d , M4 & the i8

In 4 months of ownership, 4750 miles of driving - the very best pure electric range that I have ever seen on fully charged is 14miles, with average of 47mpg

The very best mpg I achieved over 150miles in Eco pro all electrical systems off, ie air con etc was 72mpg

Sure - I achieved 212mpg once in a 14.3mile round trip to kfc -

Love the i8 - just wish bmw weren't so off the mark with their quoted mpg.

Bmw are poor at providing really world mpg -

our x5 - book value is 45mpg - average over 38.000 is 28.1mpg

M4 - mind you has given me 28.4 mpg over 13,000

That's Imperial gallons. Converting your 47 Impg to US figures is 39.1.

I have 2,223 miles as of this morning and am averaging 60.8 mpg (U.S. gallons). For short trips (10 miles or less) I like to drive all electric. My average kW usage is 6.2 m/kWh. The best "gas mileage" I've seen for a trip (other than 0 mpg) has been 232 mpg -- I put it in sport a few times to get away from traffic or when I turned to allow me to accelerate quickly. (My worst mileage was when I let my friend Spyder take it from the Malibu Colony -- sea level -- to his place just off Piuma Road in Malibu -- 2,205 feet elevation -- and the car indicated 19.5 mpg. It was driven very hard and very fast. Performed like a real sports car. Spyder has had lots of BMWs and currently has a very fast Porsche.)

My 60.8 mpg average converts to 73 Impg, by the way.

I wonder who has the highest mpg out there. My "community" setting says the highest is "100+" but that usually mans someone new has just signed on.

Its an i8, the latest release has a fun bug that downgrades your i8 to three i3s

i3? I didn't even notice my car had changed when I reinstalled the App. And I even put gas in it a couple of days ago.

It definitely deserved it, but like any "first in it's class" it needs work; BMW will perfect the i8/i3 and they will be even better in the future.
