There are three trim levels in the US(Mega, Giga & Terra). In the standard trim(Mega) the sunroof is an option, but if you get either of the two interior upgrade trims then the sunroof is standard:
Mega World ($41,350; $45,200 w/REx) BMW Navigation BMW ConnectedDrive with eCall BMW i Remote Alarm Bright, lightweight Sensatec and sustainable cloth made from recycled materials Leather trimmed steering wheel Grained dash trim Giga World: All Mega World features, plus: Interior wrapped in leather and wool cloth Universal garage door opener Comfort Access Sunroof Satellite radio Leather-trimmed steering with contrasting stitching Tera World: All Giga World features, plus: Luxurious full leather Olive leaf-tanned interior, with textile accents and contrasting stitching Anthracite floors mats.

Awesome, innovative car. It is quite beautiful. The only thing that I don't like are the twin kidney badges on the front fascia. They don't do anything and the car would be better with them.

Zadjali, thanks for the great pics! Really nice to see all these details of the sunroof and the interior.
tommolog, thanks for the package breakdown. I hope Giga won't cost much more than BMW's typical Premium package. Also, cool to see you on bimmerpost after following your ActiveE and i3 blogs! |

Great to see detailed pics. Thanks!
I must be old school, but I just can't stand anything but a black steering wheel. Hopefully it's available on at least one of the trim lines. |

Car looks ok for it's purpose, if I was looking at this vs Prius etc I would probably seriously consider the i3, however I think the use of the blue color around kidney grill, roundel, and rocker panels under the doors is silly and unnecessary.

Reminds me of my old Honda Element.
Too bad the total range, even with extender, is so limited. |

I'm still unclear on if the REX has the ability to keep powering the battery after the initial 80 miles (160 mile total). I know it has a 2.5 gallon capacity, so refills would have to be frequent even if it were possible to keep going after refilling the tank.
