"Safety box accumulator" what is it?

Recently I was told this part number "61278648904" needs to be replaced by a technician but am not sure he knows what he's talking about, BMW dealer wants $1400 to diagnose if that is the problem, eBay sells it for $150. So confused to know if this is the problem, he told me this part is responsible for disconnecting the battery in the event of a crash. Can it be reprogrammed , or do I need to remove the battery and replace ? please say 'no'

Hey Zero,
The S-Box is "only" a massive fuse.
Normally it blows up for a reason. Fingers crossed it is not the EME.
Keep us updated.

best regards

Hi, zeroemissionz!
Have the same issue with this safety box of my i3 after collision. Did you find the solution for it?

Regards
