i8 Windows don't go all the way down

Apparently the i8 windows don't go all the way down.

Are there any pics or video of this?

Seeing as how the 4 series GC rear windows don't go all the way down either, this seems to be an ugly trend BMW is getting itself into...

As David said, it is true. I asked the dealer for the reasons for this and he said it was to do with aero. The idea being, that by having the window protruding ever so slightly it helps to deflect the air along the aero lines of the body (and avoid going into the recess of where the windows come out of).

On a somewhat related note, the windows open slightly when closing the doors (and then automatically close once the door is closed). I believe the reason for this is to relieve any air pressure buildup that might be caused by the closing, given the significant size of the doors.

That's quite common on cars these days TBH. Also prevents 'pinching' of the rubber seals by the windows when the door is being shut.
