Carbon fibre interior pics?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Gents, thinking of upgrading my i8 to the carbon fibre interior.

Does anyone of you have it? Do you like it?

Dealer quoting £2300 including parts and fitting. Is that the right deal, should I negotiate?

Any pics of your interior?

I took some of the Protonic Red that I saw. It looks nice, but the price is so steep for just a few pieces...

The ceramic shift and iDrive knob do look nice though.

That looks a lot better but I agree it's steep. If you can swing the price then go for it.

Looks nice.... but personally I hope to put my money towards the new official CF wheels. Fingers crossed they are wider.

...dreams of better grip, handling, braking and lower unsprung mass

They'll be a lot more than $3k!! lol I think if they do offer them you're looking at $12-15k.

I am hoping that lots of stuff will eventually be offered by BMW Performance for rational prices... Not sure who is making the cf wheels so tough to guess on aftermarket pricing.

I don't have it (wasn't available when I ordered), but I have seen it in the flesh and it does look v impressive. I particularly like the fact that it is textured.

See if you can negotiate on the price... it's £1700 when ordering from the factory.

I generally don't like CF in cars as there's been too much of the shiny/gloss finish CF however my Protonic Red with it's 'bare' CF is very nice. After I sat in mine in the dealership and then test drove their demonstrator I was a little dismayed during the test drive at the standard interior finish.

The proverbial icing on the cake is the weighted ceramic iDrive controller, that's a classy touch.

My CF trim option included the gear shift in CF

http://bmwi.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1223155

The seat / i8 cill trim option I paid for should have had the ceramic gear knob but happy with the CF one fitted

So the choice is: those wheels and laser lights, or a brand-new i3 for the wife. Decisions, decisions. ;-)

Wheels for sure, you can't subject your wife to driving that ugly little thing

Normally I'm all for the crazy options, but I still can't justify the laser lights. It's only a high-beam "boost", so in reality I would rarely see it kick in.

I agree. Far too much money for the feature, even though it is a v cool feature.
