Got this today after a slightly self indulgent (i.e. long way round with Sport Mode involved) loop to the shops and home with some anticipative traffic driving in electric mode. Is this possible?

If so, I'm gobsmacked! In a good way.

In short, no it is not possible. The i8 will return 50mpg uk in mix driving and relatively frequent charging.

I once got 201mpg - that was a 17 mile drive, mostly on battery which was empty at the end and cruising at 50ish mph. The same trip usually gives me 70-100mpg being semi-careful.

same typically 80-90mpg (UK) on a mixed 26 mile commute (lots of hills). once got 110mpg by driving like a granny

the ops post would suggest a journey very much weighed to e-power and a small amount of petrol engine. I've actually never looked what the app shows for a pure e-power journey??

Yep - any high mpg means not a lot of fuel being burnt. My average electrical consumption is 7.5 mi per kWh but a quick blast this morning was down to 2 miles per Kwh and 56mpg (oops!)

I'm doing a few miles this aft, I'll granny it in e-drive and see what it says.

not that I believe this is the cause but I always use the premium fuel??

I'm getting very confused lately

BMW m/kWh & mpg vs Tesla kW/kWh rated range/kWh instant range/kWh average range vs Range Rover (will I actually arrive at my destination? despite spending £150 on fuel)

Probably just our average speed is lower plus the air-con isn't working overtime - it's never hot enough !

DOn't forget the US gallon is smaller than the UK gallon (about 20%), so you need to adjust to get a comparable result....
