Can I use an extension cord for the OUC 110v?

If so is there a specific amps that I need to run for it?
any other concerns I should watch for?

If I remember right, your regular orange extension chord is good for up to 25 amps - more than your usual 110v outlet will carry.

I used one while I was doing a 48 hour test drive and the only thing I noticed was that the chord got rather hot to the touch... other than that no issues.

I'm using one. No issues to report.

Just make sure you uncoil the extension cord.

BMW doesn't recommend it but other owners have tested and usually are safe. I would go 10 gauge and stay 25 ft. Yes make sure to uncoil completely and check the ends regularly to make sure it doesn't overheat.

As others have mentioned, uncoil it so it doesn't overheat. Technically, a 12 gauge cord would be sufficient, but I too recommend getting a lower gauge cord (10 ga) for added safety. This is because you'll be using it for many continuous hours, at close to the maximum allow amperage for a 12 ga cable, and perhaps every day.

Most extension cords don't see that kind of continuous use at or close to the maximum rated load. Spend a few extra bucks and get a high quality 10 gauge cord, and you won't have to worry about it.

Something like this:

I was getting insufficient power grid errors in instrument cluster until I switched to higher amp rated cord.

Is this conversation still going on? I would also like to add some of my own information. Southwire (Yellow Jacket Extension Cord) is the best choice for your OUC 110V. It is the best in terms of Amp's، Voltages and Watts۔
Thank you

Not sure whether yellow is a standard designation, but cord I use happens to be yellow and rated for 25 amps.
