Using ISTA/D on a BMW i3

So confused I have got the software and installed into my computer, also bought myself a cable that connects to my pc ethernet port and is ODB plug on the other end , is their any other "hardware" that needs to be used in order to use ISTA/D just for clearing and reading errors ? I have connected via my ethernet port and it reads the VIN also says no errors, but the car tells me "Driveatrain Faulty DO NOT DRIVE" I need to find out what this error is but might be missing something here, thanks for your help guys

No other cable (ie ENET) is needed for diagnostics.

For flash programming, you need an ICOM.
